“First time in town, I was looking for steak and seafood and I stumbled upon this gem. I walked in and had one beautiful lady seat me and then another beauty comes around the corner to take my order. My steak and shrimp combo that the staff cooked up just for me was fantastic. Top cut beef and huge shrimp. Garlic Mashed Potatoes, fresh bread and cold beer equals the perfect dinner. The bread pudding I took away for dessert later blew me away. Excellent excellent place! Highly recommend! I will be back if I am ever in town.” —George M.
“I walked in and was seated right away. The service was amazing. My server checked on me often, but not too much. I ordered the Special they had that night, which was a 10 oz Ribeye for $25. The steak came with a baked potato and a house salad. The steak was cooked perfectly! I like my steaks medium-rare and they did a great job of achieving that. The steak, itself, was also delicious. I also loved that they serve Cheerwine —my favorite soft drink, which we can’t find in the North. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it. The steak is what I really wanted and that was the best part of the meal – that makes it a winner in my book!” —Rebecca H.
Carolina Beach now has it’s first classic Carolina Steakhouse—The Squeeze. Aptly named for its cozy dining room. But size of the accommodations isn’t important here, it’s the size of the meal. The Squeeze offers the very finest cuts of beef from the 8 oz. Filet Mignon to the huge 23 oz. Porterhouse Steak. The Squeeze appeals to hungry appetites seeking flavorful, skillfully prepared food.
We also offer the area’s finest local seafood entrees, from Crab Soup and Clam Chowder to a variety of popular Shrimp entrees, Oysters, Crab and Fish & Chips. Be sure to check out the Shrimp Cocktail with our Macho Sauce or the Clam Cakes and Chowder appetizers.
Sides include your steakhouse favorites, such as creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, French fries and Onion Rings. And we also offer fresh garden sales to accompany your meal, along with hot French bread.
Bring the whole family to the Squeeze for dinner or couples find it a delightful option for an intimate dinner on Pleasure Island.
Ralph Roof is no stranger to Carolina Beach. Most locals, and those who have been visiting the Island over the years, know him as “Pops”. While he might be known for the original Pop’s Diner down the street or maybe Pop’s Homemade Ice Cream, he has now opened his newest venture in Carolina Beach, The Squeeze Steak and Seafood.
Located on the corner of Charlotte Avenue and Lake Park Boulevard The Squeeze might be small in stature, but makes up for with a menu full of steaks and seafood. House in once was the “Pelican Arms Hotel”, Pops’ renovation removed the top floor of the building to accommodate a brand new state-of -the art kitchen, with a wood-fired grill to give the steaks a true smoky flavor and casually rustic dining room, with soft lighting and wooden tables and booths modeled after the classic steakhouses out west.
This restaurant marks the 37th career restaurant for Pops, with the majority of his former restaurants located in Virginia. Pops made the move to Pleasure Island in 2003 and has become a local figure in the restaurant scene.
